We provide comprehensive Anger Management Services.  The services we provide include anger management groups (court ordered and non court ordered) and individual counseling.  In our anger management program we identify several components to managing anger which include; examining the roots of anger, cycle of abuse, emotional regulation, tolerating distresses, understanding your needs, idnetifying stress releasors, emotional intelligence, coping skills, interpersonal skills, assertiveness skills, and relapse prevention.

Anger is natural, however it can be destructive when expressed inappropriately.  Anger is an emotional state that may range from minor irritation to intense rage. Often times anger is a learned response. How did your family express emotions or deal with anger? Anger symbolically resembles that of an onion, there are different layers to anger. When someone gets angry, the outside layer of the onion is the anger. The layers behind the first layer may be disappointment, jealousy, hurt, frustration, or wide array of other emotions.

In counseling individuals with anger management difficulties,we develop a treatment plan that is tailored to the individual’s situation and needs. First and foremost we assess the root of the anger. We do this through anger journaling, processing events that trigger anger, and increasing one’s emotional intelligence regarding life situations. In conjunction with this, the therapist works together with the client to learn relaxation skills, cognitive restructuring skills, and communication skills. The goal in anger management counseling is to allow the person to communicate their feelings and get their needs met in healthy ways. If you or a loved one struggles with anger management, please call us today for an initial consultation at 303-481-4229.
